1. the friut of Mendel's pea, Pisum sativum, or Tua-Lan-Tao, is botanically classified as a 'legume'.
its structure consists of 1.1 exalbuminous seeds (thus, have no endosperm) derived from the ovules
and 1.2 its pod (which you peel off when eating) called 'pericarp', derived from the ovary wall of the flower krub.
ps. keep in mind the pattern of germination, hypogeal germination of Tua-Lun-Tao. It always appear on the exam.
2. the banana eaten today isn't the originally wild species (like those standing in Amazon forest, for instance).
The wild type actually has 2n (diploid), producing several visible large seeds in the fruit, I've never seen it either.
The seedless banana, which we're more familiar with, has 3n (triploidy).
This polyploidy makes it unable to meiosis, thus can't make any visible seeds.
So it's not necessary for pollination or fertilization too.
Instead, it asexually reproduces the offspring, without any seed, and develops the fruit by the process called 'parthenocarpy'
(which means 'making a fruit without fertilization') under the influence of auxin hormone.
Think it's gonna be clear. Not much information because i really hate the plant section when studying in highschool. XD
